at the Pfalz Open in Neustadt an der Weinstraße two of our youngsters, who had already proven themselves in the first team, took part. After a mixed start by Niklas in the B-Open, with two losses straight away and one win and one loss by Aaron in the C-Open, neither of them gave away a single full point in the following rounds; for Niklas there followed two draws and three wins, and for Aaron nothing but wins, except for the 5th round, in which he gave away half a point! Both proved that they are real tournament players and scored 100% in the final two rounds

Niklas finished 56th out of 173 participants and improved his Elo rating to 1608

Aaron ended up in seventh place in the overall standings (118 participants), and even in 2nd place in the U14 youth ranking, and could thus enjoy a cash prize of 75 euros and a trophy
