Schachfreunde München is carried by a small, dedicated team that runs the club on a voluntary basis, trains the next generation and keeps club life going.

Richard Holzberger

Chairman

Leads the club and, as a youth coach, regularly sits at the board himself to nurture the next generation.

Dr. Stefano Merenda

Deputy chair & youth director

A computer scientist (PhD) and teacher — leads the youth work and brings in technology and organisation.

Marcus Helfer

Third chair, treasurer & school chess

Keeps the finances together and also brings chess into the schools.

External tournaments & support

Organises participation in external tournaments and supports our players on site.

Coach

Passes on her chess knowledge to our youngsters with plenty of patience and joy.

Training organisation

Looks after the organisation of our training and makes sure everything runs smoothly.
