1st team succeeds in the DSOL: strong performance
(rh) On Thursday we faced SG Weissensee I. An exciting match developed. On the first board Elias held his ground and was leading against his favoured opponent. The good position, however, cost him a lot of thinking time. This time was then missing at the end of the game and he lost. On the second board Volker had to hold off the attack of White, who played a gambit and, with the queen-bishop battery, could only take on f7 under the premise of a knight fork. He managed this very well, however. We could live well with the draw. On the fourth board Dimitri played the most balanced game, in which the contestants made hardly any mistakes. Patrick’s game was very exciting; his opponent thought deeply and used up a lot of time. Patrick first had to neutralize the attack with the queen and bishop and continue playing with an exchange sacrifice. He nevertheless kept the upper hand and was able to bring home the first full point.
