Best placement (3rd place) in the French team tournament: participant record of 17 reached
(rh) For almost half a year now, Sundays have passed with our regular participation in the tournament in honour of the late chess trainer Xavier Parmentier. Not least because of this connection, Arthur is a loyal member of the team. The tournament room only filled up a few minutes before the start; at times we were right at the top of the seeding list and fielded the strongest line-up since the team’s existence. With Feyre17 another girl succeeded in the team. Diana’s teammate from last year’s U14 girls’ team did us the honour and played, especially in the first half, flawlessly and diligently collected points for the team. In the early phase it became clear that this time we would be playing at the top.
The match was broadcast in the stream and there were many highlights: Arthur and Ardian scored 31 and 30 points respectively, Benedikt with a phenomenal performance of 2162 (the second-best performance in the entire field of 148 participants!) increased his rating by 40 points. Maxim surprisingly made it among the team’s first six players with 24 points. Next time we will go into the match as favourites!
