Three Successes in Two Days: On Wednesday 4th Place with a Weakened Team in the U12 World League, Schachfreunde München e.V. VII Wins 3 to 1 and Keeps the Table Lead, and in the Quarantine League Promotion to the 12th League for the First Time with Two Masters
(rh) These were successful days for our teams. On Wednesday we played in the U12 World League with a weakened line-up; at least one full team was missing. But Benedikt was there and could be relied upon: he did not give up a single point, scored 18 points and put himself at the top of the scorer list across the entire field of participants with a performance of around 2300. The guest players Daniel and Sepas also really turned it up. Among our prospects, Stefan and Julian gave us joy. All in all it was a successful competition day.
On Thursday, Schachfreunde München e.V. VII managed a 3 to 1 against Bremen V. JianQi’s win on the second board was unexpected, since his opponent had about 300 more points to his name. But Johann was the fastest and put the team in the lead. After that, however, I turned to the Quarantine League. We had eagerly awaited the masters, who logged in a little later. Jan reached 53 points and enabled the team’s promotion. For Samu things weren’t quite running smoothly yet; he reached 33 points and thereby also made the scoring. Christoph ultimately delivered the best performance, and Ardian played brilliantly in the first half of the competition and beat almost everyone, at times reaching a performance of 2500.
I also watched the DSOL: JianQi had caught the opponent’s queen, but Anton also ran into a queen fork, so these games were decided by queen losses. Elias also came out on top, so we will contest the last three rounds as favourites for qualification.
