First Place in the 11th League: FM Samu Gabor Brings the Most Points with the Best Performance in the Entire Field
(rh) We were quite amazed on Thursday evening and, after the first skirmishing of the tournament, settled into the upper half of the table, and it did not take long until we were among the top three. We consolidated this position and gradually conquered second place; now it did not take much longer until we also took the lead. This all happened thanks to the phenomenally playing Wynnie, who at times was hot on the heels of the FM who had recently become a father and was probably playing so well because of it. After three quarters of the tournament, Samu’s performance was over 2650 and he had given up only half a point up to that point. We have never been promoted so comfortably; 15 minutes before the end we led by 15 points. If everyone is in form, we can achieve even more. On Sunday it’s 3-minute chess again.
