Easter Tournament and Easter Grand Prix a Full Success: 166 Participants in 6 Age Groups and 26 Participants in the Grand Prix
(rh) From near and far, young chess players streamed to the 3rd Moosach Youth Online Open on Easter Sunday. From all over Germany and above all from Ireland and Austria, many were there.
The composition of the U18 tournament was remarkable. Here 20 played, and the field was made up of the best from Germany and Austria. A top-class tournament was played. The winner scored 100% with a performance of over 2800. The first and third also played in the Easter Grand Prix and likewise achieved good placings there.

The U16 tournament was also strongly manned; here a performance of 2305 was enough for victory among 15 participants.

For victory in the U14, more was already needed; the field was made up of 27 participants and very highly rated players. The best performance, at 2442, was more than 100 points better than in the U16; the winner came from Ireland.

In the U12, 44 participants battled and first place went to Ireland; here too a very strong performance was needed, namely 2422.

In the U10, 35 players were represented; for first place a performance of over 2100 was needed, and the winner came from Bavaria.

In the U8, 25 players were represented; for first place a performance of just under 2000 was needed, and the winner came from Bavaria.

The Easter Grand Prix was then played from 4 p.m.; our FMs measured themselves against many youth players. In the end Gabor was able to take second place in both tournaments (Chess960 and Normal with 2+1, eight rounds) and reach first place in the overall standings. It was a top-class and exciting tournament that cries out for a repeat.
