U30, DWZ, district and blitz this week, and the Open is coming!
The U20 league went by somewhat without emotion. The first team had no chance of promotion and had already secured staying up early on. In the last round, the opponents from Garching3 didn’t show up at all. Teams failing to appear eased our staffing situation. We had to contend with adverse circumstances. For one, we were missing the qualifiers for the German Championship, who were preparing for it in Oberhaching with tandem chess :) Besides that, there was also the tournament in Vaterstetten running in parallel. Marcus, Lucas, Kai and Atreyu took part in that tournament; Marcus and Jonas (U10-U12) won their groups and Atreyu finished 2nd in the U8. Furthermore, we were feeling the after-effects of Corona, others were ill as well, and some simply can’t play on Saturdays as a rule.
On Sunday, after the final round, the blitz championship took place; as already at the rapid chess tournament in Deisenhofen, Niklas, David and Daniel were at the front and qualified for the Bavarian Championship.
We are not idle and are planning our 1st Open for the Whitsun weekend.
