Chess camp, BFD, club championship etc.
The chess camp in the last week differed considerably from the one in the first. While the first week was more of a children’s camp, the last week was a chess camp with more complex content. On the first day, Victoria introduced Anian and Julio to the pedagogical side of chess teaching; Elias and Leo were the youngest, and Felix and Gerd took part as seniors. Zhafaar and Viktoria joined for individual days, and online Kai, Barbara and Maxim took part. The training is making itself felt especially with Leo; after his successful debut in the C-Open of the Small Laim Open, he also won against Smrithi in the club championship. Manfred has already offered him individual training; we are looking forward to his further development.
It is now certain that the U10 Championship may take place at the Gymnasium München Moosach. We are already preparing for this big event. Before that, however, other important dates are on the agenda: two match days on 17 and 24 September in the Landesliga Süd, the Bavarian girls’ team championship on 18 September, and in parallel the “Rapid and Blitz” at the Pelkovenschlössl on 18 September.
It has been agreed with the ASZ Laim that we can train on Saturdays in the rooms on the upper floor. Here the training for the children from the surrounding schools will take place from 10 a.m. The performance groups will have their turn in the afternoon. Since we have several rooms at our disposal, workshops can also take place in parallel. We would like to be on site on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The club championship has got underway; so far 16 are taking part. Among the adults, Marcus and Anton are participating so far. All others are under 25. Since we play according to the Keizer system, joining at any round is possible. Roughly evenly matched players play against each other. The next round takes place on 7 October at the neighbourhood meeting point. There is also the option of playing the round on Saturday from 11 a.m. at the ASZ.
Four teams have been registered for the Munich team championship; we are looking forward to the season. The home matches will take place centrally, that is, for all teams at the same time, at the ASZ Laim. A seniors’ team will also be mixing it up in the seniors’ league.
