In Memoriam Stephan! We will miss you
Today Anian learned that Stephan passed away from us already at the beginning of the week. His last matches will remain in our memory; he helped the team to its current outstanding position in the table. He saw his life’s work fulfilled in our youngsters, who intervened successfully in the MMM against MSC. From the very early days he helped build up the club with advice and deeds. I remember our first meeting; it took months for it to come about, as even then he was in poor health. He joined the youth group at the PSV and made me aware of his health situation: it could be that he would always be absent for a few weeks at a time.
He introduced us to the Moosacher Nachbarschaftstreff, which he co-founded, and we held the first matches here as well. Niklas was his first pupil, then came Aaron and finally our voluntary social year worker Anian, whose chess development he also nurtured. After every match of the team we usually celebrated the win with an after-work beer. Stephan, we will miss you …
