DWZ tournament on Buß- und Bettag at the Pelkovenschlössl

This time 48 took part. In five four-player groups and one large tournament with 28, there was a fight for the trophies. In the strongest group, young talents around 1500 and above played; here Leo got his chance from us and was able to hold his rating, two draws and a defeat in the final round against Qaspar being his record. The group was won by Benjamin Kayl of FC Bayern München. In the play-off he prevailed against Jakob Kleinschrod of SV Höhenkirchen.

In the second group we had three of our own members in the running; Yüksel Eren of MSA Zugzwang was seeded at 1. The first round between Eren and Maxim dragged on for a long time; the latter defended with knight against rook and took a draw. In the meantime Marco lost against Bruno. In the second round Maxim and Marco prevailed against their younger opponents. In this group the 3rd round began when the others had long since finished. The last game went on until 18:00; Bruno lost against Eren and Marco won against Maxim, making a hefty DWZ gain and winning his first trophy – who would have thought it after the first round.

In the third group Cheng Louis won surprisingly, in the fourth Aaron Falck and in the fifth Krebs Jonathan.

The overall tournament and the U10 were won without dropping a point by Mark Alves Huber of FC Bayern München, who made up DWZ. In the places behind followed Tokovinin Nikita (U12), Shabin Nathan (2nd U10), and from us came André Fischer next, who then won gold in the (U8) and also a trophy, and Alex was (2nd U12). Best girl was Secondini Chiara of SC Kaufbeuren, closely followed by our new member Nora Eisenhut.
