The first team frees itself, second away win in a row!

In Haunstetten an old acquaintance awaited us, still from the days when I completed the C-trainer course, Michael Romfeld. He played on 2 against Lukas. On 1 Namik was seeded, Norman on three, then Leon, Martin, Ardian, Matvei and Neyan. Namik played against a Frenchman and was able to build up space and advantage move by move. It looked like a point, which he also took. On two Lukas had to get to know the wing gambit in the Sicilian and to play successfully against it. Despite a material and positional advantage he could not manage the win and drew. Norman was able to free himself at the third attempt. Against an opponent with 100 DWZ points more, there was a fair draw. Leon played fast but couldn’t manage the decisive advantage; the game slid into a pawn endgame that was unwinnable for either side. With Martin things were on fire on the board, attack and counterattack balancing each other for a long time, but the opponent was then able to prevail after all. Ardian won an exchange and pawns and took the decisive point at the 3.5 to 3.5 score, as the last to finish. Matvei won early, and Neyan lost on time in a difficult position with an open king and a knight up. So we entrench ourselves in the middle of the table.
