On Friday, for now, represented at the home match with 25 boards in the MMM!
On Friday evening it began: the 2nd had the task of taking its first match points, the 3rd likewise after gathering just one more, the 4th, with a balanced points tally, to try everything, and the 5th to keep its clean sheet and take its second win.
The 2nd team took the task seriously; Manfred also strengthened it, as Martin played in the Regionalliga last Sunday. Then came Anton, Saksham, Jochen, Marcus, Kayra and Jürgen. The first two boards and board No. 6 ended drawn; Anton did not repeat his success from the last match evening against Bayern and lost this time on 3. Saksham fought his way through in a balanced endgame to the full point, Kayra dominated his opponent and won, as did Jürgen and Marcus. So the task was fulfilled and the team orients itself upward. But the next opponent is a handful too.
The 3rd team had to face TSV Poing. That awoke memories, as we played as a guest at TSV Poing in our first season. Christoph, Ardian and Marcus were part of the action. But our current 3rd did not prove a match. One after another the points were lost. Andreas fought longest on board 1. Corbinian drew on two, Anton suffered a knight fork and thus also lost the game, Antonios and Niklas drew, Ahmed lost and Sebastian on board 7 also took a half point.
In the 4th team, Leo made his debut on board 5. Oliver and Jonas drew up front. Linus played patiently and struck; he plays better from round to round. Fedor followed on the next board and came off worse. With suspense we followed Leo’s game; he exchanged and had just as much thinking time as his opponent. An endgame of bishop against knight came onto the board, but an inaccuracy then cost Leo the knight, and the two connected passed pawns did not compensate for the loss. Maxim once again proved his good form, playing a complex game and waiting for his opponent’s mistake. With his win the 4th team took its next match point and finds itself in the middle of the table.
The 5th team has found itself; only one board was changed, with Soham playing instead of Marco. Yasir was again on 4 and played safely and took an early draw. Mohammad on two also won early, Soham declined his opponent’s draw offer and proved with his win that he stood better. Mohammadreza lost for the first time in the team; it was not a matter of indifference which knight captured, and he picked up the wrong knight. Nonetheless the 5th team is a joy and had every chance in the season.
