Our U10 team, taking part in the Bavarian U12 Championship, qualifies for the quarter-final having dropped just one board point! The 1st team has finished the Regionalliga as a newcomer with survival; we attack next year with a new team!
Everyone in our young team was in good form; the final result is impressive. There was only one defeat and 11 wins. Only Bruno couldn’t hold out against his two-years-older opponent, who had more than 400 points more on his DWZ account. Sai Varun provided security with his early wins. The quarter-final on 09 May will be decisive. We will prepare well for it.
The 1st team has finished the Regionalliga in 8th place. The best scorers were Ardian and Matvei with 6 out of 8 and a hefty DWZ gain. There were some adversities to overcome; without the top boards we could not follow up. Very important were the direct duels against the relegation rivals, which each ended narrowly 4.5 to 3.5 for us. The season is reminiscent of the first season in the district league; the team first had to get used to the rough climate of the higher league in order then to follow up in the second year.
